Since early 2020, the events surrounding COVID 19 has taken the world by storm and changed all of our lives, immensely. It has stopped us in our tracks and taken us all by surprise.
As aged care specialists, committed to facilitating independent living and a better quality of life, our team is working 24-7 to ensure that the health and well-being all of our Clients, extended families and loved ones, is the number one priority. This is even more important, now than ever.
Guided by government policy, industry best-practice and our broader global CK network, we are focusing on responding to your needs as quickly as possible, no matter how big or small. At all times, our Clients’ well-being, health and happiness - is a key priority.
As we know, the aim is to try and slow the spread of virus so that the health impact, particularly on the elderly and vulnerable, is flattened or delayed to allow for proper health care and to prevent the overloading of our health and support services. The vaccination roll-out is under way across Western Australia and we encourage you to speak to your own GP, or ask for support and guidance, e needed from our highly qualified team.
As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, we will act accordingly, on the information provided from the State and Federal Government, Department of Health and the World Health Organisation.
Since the pandemic started, Comfort Keepers has taken a number of steps to assist in reducing the impact and to assist in the best quality of life and independence, for our Clients: This has included (not limited to):
* Being available with a 24-7 client access phone contact (08) 9492 8920 to answer any concerns and assist with fast response support.
* Educating and up-skilling our Support W orkers in the key areas of: infection control, symptom identification, communication and response procedures.
* Increasing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and anti-bacterial procedures- for all Staff.
* Introduction of stringent In-Home care processes for our Clients
* Personal & regular client letters and communications (ongoing)
* Continuous monitoring and alignment with government & industry policies, as required.
At the core, is an unrelenting and dedicated effort to ensure that each and every person receives the highest level of care possible in Western Australia, within the extraordinary set of circumstances that we all face.
As Australia introduces stringent policies to cope with the crisis, we strongly encourage all Seniors and members of the public to focus on their own health, safety and wellbeing, to consult their GP, and to ask for any help and support from your family, friends, neighbours, or organisations - like Comfort Keepers - as needed to stay connected to the community and each other.
We will also partner and work with our industry colleagues, to ensure that it is an integrated and holistic response.
Our Support Workers are being up-skilled, trained and monitored to ensure the highest level of care is provided and that their health and well-being is also a priority.
The level of care required might be something new and unprecedented, but together we can and will make a difference.
