Heatwave Information

Summer has landed a few days early and we encourage all of our wonderful Clients and the wider community - to stay cool and hydrated in the soaring temperatures, this week. WA has adopted the new National Standard and just released a fantastic new Warning System and App for seniors and all, to assist with extreme summer weather conditions and provide advice on how to stay cool and cope with the heat. The Australian Warning System has three phases:

1. Advice - Prepare now for a heatwave that will affect your area in the coming days. Stay up-to-date in case the situation changes.

2. Watch and act - Conditions are changing. You need to start taking action and prepare for very hot conditions.

3. Emergency warning - You need to act immediately. Drink water, stay indoors or seek out air-conditioned places. Be aware of heat stress, and check on family and friends, especially the elderly. You will see the same alerts around the country for heatwaves and other hazards. For the latest heatwave alerts visit https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/ or listen to your emergency radio broadcaster. For advice on how prepare for hot weather, visit HealthyWA https://www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/Heatwave.Here is the new video, recently launched as a warning system, for heatwaves. Stay tuned for more updates and be prepared this summer
