There are many wonderful things about Comfort Keepers Perth and several reasons for our growing success - over the past 16 years. One key ingredient, however, has been the commitment, professionalism and passion given by one of our very first-ever Comfort Keepers' team members: Maria Lubieri - who is celebrating 15 years of dedicated service with the company.
Maria was employed on a 'casual' basis in September 2006, after 12 months of maternity leave, to assist with data entering of our very first 'Comfort Keepers' clients. She then accepted a permanent part time position and the rest, as they say, is history and our good fortune! With an extensive background in the medical and health care arena, Maria's skills and passion for helping others, is second to none. From her first role in administration and scheduling, Maria is today, the Service Manager at Comfort Keepers and continues to lead and inspire, all around her. When asked, what she loves about her job, she said: "knowing that I've helped to make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families, is what has made it so worthwhile."
Over the past 15 years, Maria has seen many changes in aged care and in-home care services - the biggest being that there is so much more support available today - to enable people to stay in their own homes "The funding and availability of Home Care packages is now so much greater than it was 15 years ago," she said. "Home care is so important as it helps people to hold on to their independence and reduce depression.. It’s very close to my heart now -with my own ageing mother. Seeing the difference, first hand, has really made me appreciate how lucky we are to have such so many resources and support for our families and loved ones, available."
